A popular Japanese restaurant in New York is hiring a talented and passionate Sushi Chef to lead its Omakase service. The ideal candidate will have solid experience with sushi preparation, creative presentation skills, and a commitment to excellence in a fast-paced, professional environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and serve sushi, sashimi, and rolls with precision and artistry
  • Maintain cleanliness and food safety standards at all times
  • Collaborate with kitchen staff for efficient service
  • Monitor and manage inventory levels
  • Propose seasonal or innovative sushi menu items
  • Train junior staff in sushi techniques and food safety

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience as a Sushi Chef, preferably in fine dining or Omakase settings
  • Excellent knife skills and deep knowledge of Japanese cuisine
  • Understanding of food safety standards
  • Strong teamwork and communication abilities
  • Experience in catering or dietary departments is a plus

Salary
$1,000–$1,200 per week + tips (based on experience)

Work Schedule
Full-time (day & evening shifts available)
