A high-end omakase restaurant in New York is seeking a General Manager to lead front-of-house operations. This role combines leadership, hospitality, and beverage expertise, with a strong focus on delivering an exceptional guest experience. Key Responsibilities
- Oversee all front-of-house operations and guest experience
- Hire, train, and schedule FOH staff
- Manage wine and sake programs, including inventory and vendor relationships
- Edit and print daily menus, manage CRM and reservations (Tock)
- Use POS systems (Toast), monitor performance reports
- Support internal communication (e.g., insurance or visa-related assistance)
- Communicate with ownership through regular reporting
Qualifications
- 5+ years of fine dining management or sommelier experience
- Expertise in wine and sake (certifications such as WSET Level 3 or CMS preferred)
- Passion for Japanese cuisine and omakase-style dining
- Excellent leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Strong tech literacy (Adobe, Excel, Google Sheets, etc.)
- Must be authorized to work in the US
- Japanese language proficiency is a plus
Salary
$100,000 – $130,000/year (commensurate with experience) + performance bonuses
Work Schedule
Full-time with flexible scheduling (including nights, weekends, and holidays)
